The Privacy Act
The Privacy Act aims to protect individuals against abuse of their personal data. It contains the rights and obligations of individuals whose data are processed, as well as the rights and obligations of those processing the data.
The Privacy Act's implementing decrees
The first Royal Decree implementing the Privacy Act was adopted in 2001, on the occasion of the transposition of European Directive 95/46/EC into the Privacy Act. In 2003 a second implementing decree established the way the sector committees work.
